Who's Who

Mark Rainbow

Senior Minister

I'm so grateful to God that he brought my parents to faith when I was very young and that through them I came to see how loved I am by God and what hope and peace Jesus brings to life.  I grew up just north of Nottingham and moved to Durham in 2005, where I met my wife Sarah. We have three children.  Having trained at Moore Theological College in Sydney, I was ordained as an Anglican Minister in 2017, and have served as Senior Minister of Grace Church since then.

Bethan McStay

Youth and Children's Worker

Hi, I’m Bethan and I’m the Children’s and Youth Worker at Grace Church. I’m a fun-loving adult who is blessed with the privilege of sharing Jesus and my silliness with the younger members of Grace Church. I live in Newton Hall with my husband, Sam and dog, Toby.  I enjoy random trivia (Fun fact for you: did you know that the world’s largest flower is called the Rafflesia, it can grow to over a metre in diameter and smells like rotting flesh. Gross!), running, walking, reading and sharing life (often over food) with friends, family and the people I meet. It has been a blessing to be part of the church family at Grace Church from the beginning, but it’s only the last few years that I have had the joy of working here.

Scott Harder

Elder

Hi, I'm Scott and I'm married to Rachel, and we have two children, Logan and Jessica. We have been at Grace Church since it was founded and as well as being an elder of Grace Church, I am also the Church Treasurer, responsible for church management and finances. In my spare time I like like to enjoy the wonderful County Durham countryside, and am also a big fan of board games (as anyone who has seen my board game collection will tell you!).

Dan Almond

Elder

Hi, I'm Dan and I'm married to Cara.  We live in Newton Hall with our three children.  I'm one of the elders at Grace Church and have particular responsibility for outreach and mission.  Outside of my role at the church, I work full time as an Architect.  I also enjoy music and try to keep fit by running, playing squash and getting humiliated on the golf course.  I've been at Grace Church since it was founded and find it a real joy to be part of the church family and wider community.

Jonathan Prest

Elder

Hi, I'm Jonathan and I've been a member of Grace Church with my wife Sharon since 2022 when we moved to Durham from Tyneside. We have 2 grown up daughters and we're glad to be able to serve together in the life of the church. I've always lived, studied and worked in the North East and became a Christian when I was a boy having had the privilege of growing up in a Christian family. Apart from being an elder at Grace Church I work for a local Tech business and in my spare time I enjoy the outdoors, walking, playing golf and following football.
