Spiritual Check In

But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. (Jude 20-21)

Jude tells us to keep ourselves in God's love - but it's easy to go through our Christian lives without ever pausing to ask 'how's it going?'.  A Spiritual Check In is a chance to do just that, by sitting down with Mark, our Senior Minister, to talk through three simple questions:

  1. When did you become a Christian, and what have been the key moments in Christian life since then?
  2. How is your Christian life going? (Are you encouraged or discouraged, and do you have any problems or questions that are holding you back?)
  3. What are you doing to serve the Lord in the church family and the world? (What are your gifts/how can we help you to use them?)

There's no agenda behind these questions - they're meant to serve as helpful conversation starters.  In order to help prepare for the check in, which can be done individually or as a married couple, I recommend working through one of the questionnaires below.  They can be worked through in private, and the answers don't need to be shared with anyone.

Spiritual Check Ins are on offer to all who attend the church regularly and can be booked in here.

The Spiritual Check Ins are based on work done by Wallace Benn, who sought to adapt the practice of Richard Baxter to a modern context - you can find his full reflections here.
